Arvia Inside Cabin Review
My friend Charlie, spent two weeks cruising around the Caribbean during Arvia’s first season in the region. When she returned I asked her to share her experience of what it was like to spend two weeks in an inside cabin on P&O Cruises’s newest ship.

After having such a great time cruising the Caribbean on Britannia a few winters ago, we decided to try Arvia when we saw some wallet-friendly fares for her maiden season in the Caribbean. We were keen to try a new ship so the combination of a good price and a sparkly new ship was just too much to resist.
Given we don’t usually spend much time in our cabins on a cruise an inside one seemed like the perfect choice for us. And to be honest, I’d rather use the money saved from not booking a balcony cabin for an excursion or even another cruise.
Cabin Layout
Walking into the cabin we were pleasantly surprised by the design. The cabin was modern and well thought out. It felt more spacious than it looked.
To the right, there was a three door wardrobe which provided ample storage for us. To the left was the door to the bathroom. Next to the wardrobe, there was a desk/dressing table with a generously sized mirror hanging above. There were two narrow shelves next to the mirror and a cupboard underneath. Though the desk wasn’t huge it was fine to use when getting ready each day.
On top of the desk were tea and coffee making facilities, including a kettle, cups and an assortment of tea bags. P&O know their audience well! There were also a couple glasses you could use for water or juices. Above the desk were a couple of plugs which made charging our devices easy. An important consideration these days.
Next to the bathroom door were a few hooks on the wall. As we were cruising around the Caribbean we didn’t have jackets or coats with us but I can imagine they come in very handy on colder cruises. You might also be able to use them for dresses that are slightly too long for the wardrobe.
This set up of the wardrobe and dressing table as you enter the cabin gives the feel of a little entrance corridor before you reach the main cabin area.
The (very comfortable) bed takes up pretty much all the main area of the cabin. There is just a narrow space on either side but this wasn’t really an issue. On each side of the bed was a small bedside cabinet, with two shelves. There was enough room for a good book or a glass of water here.
On the wall above each unit was a small light and if you looked carefully, a USB port. That is easily missed! These ports made it easy to charge your phone while still having it within reach when in bed.
Bathroom
The bathroom was a good size. We were on one of the first few cruises Arvia did so it felt very much new still. That said, I think the modern design lends itself to always feeling like you are one of the first people to stay in it.
There is plenty of storage space in the bathroom with three shelves next to the sink and another shelf underneath. The mirror has a light around it making the bathroom even brighter and is a help when putting make-up on.
The shower was also a good size and was comfortable to move around in. There were trays on the wall where you could put your own shower toiletries and accessories. P&O also provide toiletries from the White Room, one shower gel and one shampoo.

If you are a cruiser that prefers to be out using the ship’s facilities or exploring ports an inside cabin can be a practical and more reasonably priced choice. It can stretch your cruise budget so you can take advantage of shore excursions, speciality dining or even used towards your next cruise adventure.
Ariva’s inside cabins are well thought out, comfortable and cosy. They are a great choice if you are a person who doesn’t spend too much time in your cabin.
